FEATURED CUSTOM HOME RENOVATION:

Finch Wilson

Intermingled between heritage and modern blocks in Adelaide’s south-west suburbs; this 1930’s grand Tudor home has been given a restored charm with a thorough renovation imbued with period details and contemporary style luxury.

When our clients first purchased this home a few years back, they immediately recognised its timeless charm and knew it as the ideal setting for their family life. With the maturity of a heritage home, prior renovations had left this home up to date, but lacked the “wow-factor” they were looking for.

Choosing to renovate their property, our clients sought our expertise to enhance their home. Upon reviewing the original floor plan provided by our clients, we identified an ideal opportunity to create a small addition, linking the existing laundry area with the kitchen. Within this newly integrated internal space, we incorporated the clients’ custom-made wine room and playroom. In addition to this small extension, we also fully renovated their kitchen, butlers pantry and made modifications to their open-plan living.

Walking down the wide entry hall, you can’t help but admire the classic period features of this home including domed & decorative ceilings, timber fretwork & an abundance of leadlight. Upon reaching the end of the hallway, you are greeted by a spacious, bright and contemporary open-plan living area. To seamlessly blend these two distinct parts of the home, we introduced an internal window that offers a glimpse into our clients’ elegant wine ‘pantry’ as you proceed down the hallway, which seamlessly transitions into the luminous, open-plan extension situated at the rear of the home.

This once dark space now floods with natural light through their open floor kitchen/dining/living room. By putting in floor to ceiling windows on the south and west rear walls in the dining room, there is a tranquil focus on bringing the outside in.

The latest renovations in this home have beautifully combined old-world charm with modern sophistication.

With our clients brief requesting a sleek, modern kitchen, we chose a pallette with a perfect blend of textures and finishes. #FinchWilson is a great entertainers kitchen creating a sense of occasion even when it’s not in party mode. The metallic splashback instantly draws attention to this well-balanced design. The dark blue hues in the custom-made joinery is not only practical, but also plays with the palette providing a striking counterpoint to the oak shelves & cabinets above and a butler’s pantry to match. Everything about this design oozes with sophistication and character to reflect our client’s personality & taste.

This residence is more than just a house; it’s a haven where memories are created, laughter is cherished, and dreams are nurtured.
