We found Finch Constructions very easy to deal with when we embarked upon our recent kitchen renovation following our daughter’s recommendation. The scope expanded to include new flooring, lighting and mounting TV’s on the walls in adjoining family and lounge rooms.   Gabby was helpful in her design advice from the outset, guiding us rather than pushing us in any direction, while Chris was always available to lead the project making it easy for us. We engaged Finch Constructions to build a master suite (bedroom/sitting area, ensuite and WIR) onto our existing home. We also wanted to update our existing lounge/dining area by re-tiling, and  replacing the wooden concertina doors with double glazed sliding panels. We also wanted to move and extend our rainwater harvesting. Paul helped us flesh out and refine our plans with practical suggestions. Gabby and the admin team provided excellent support with product samples,  documentation and approval processes.  Initial consultation, quotes, approval and completion occurred over 2020-21 and needed to meet the requirements of the government Home Building grants scheme. This was a difficult time in the construction industry with shortages of materials and trades as well as a Covid lockdown. Finch met the challenges.  Chris oversaw scheduling and supervision of trades, managing with care and attention to detail. He also provided valuable suggestions about materials and finishes.  We are very happy with the final result. The quality of the build and finish is excellent. It is a beautiful space.  We would highly recommend Finch Constructions.

I cannot say enough how happy we were with the result. Paul’s eye for detail and knowledge of building is seemingly endless. Tom, the project manager, kept us informed of everything that went on throughout the build – he was incredibly professional and easy to deal with. All aspects of the process were well explained and the team at Finch Constructions were more than willing to work with us on any changes that we wanted to make along the way.

I have recently used Finch Constructions for a full renovation on a house in Pasadena.  It was a pleasure to deal with an experienced team of professionals lead by Paul.  Paul is a classic ‘old school’ experienced builder, full of great practical advice and good ideas.

Paul quickly came to terms with what we were trying to do and gave us great advice along the journey.  Our objectives quickly gelled into a plan and then a fixed price quote.  As I was not living nearby, communication was key.  Paul’s office manager Gabby was great at sending us regular updates, checking in on key decisions and documenting everything clearly and quickly.

I was very pleased that the timelines that were promised were kept, even with the usual level of building surprises.  When issues were found along the way, a range of solutions were offered and variations quickly documented and agreed.

Paul’s team of trades did a great job and were co-ordinated seamlessly.  The workmanship was to a high standard and any concerns properly addressed quickly and professionally.

I am happy to say that it was a real pleasure dealing with Finch Constructions.  I expected this project to be stressful, complex and difficult to complete from another city.  I am really pleased that it turned out to be an easy and fun experience where we created a significant property transformation that I was proud to be part of.

When it comes to building or renovating there is a significant investment of time and money but the most important outlay is trust, without it, the rest is at risk.

We had conversations and quotes from four building construction groups before working with Finch.

Four projects later (main bathroom, oversized en-suite bathroom, awesome laundry and full house exterior refresh) – I couldn’t use or recommend anyone else.

Gabby’s customer service and advice hit the mark every time – incredibly resourceful and knowledgeable in local industry contacts and providers – questions and detailing finalising to get the right product and the right look, she accurately deploys the options and sources in a timely fashion to ensure smooth running of the project from start to completion.

Using only the best quality craftsman and trades in direct and subcontracting, you know the project will have that level of finish above and beyond, taking the standard to prestige through skilful execution.

We have a local heritage listed house and Paul Finch and his skilled trades have just completed two quiet complex restoration projects for us. We can recommend this company for the quality of their work and attention to detail, open and friendly communications and timely reporting of progress. We believe that we had a good value for money.

We recently had an upstairs extension done with Finch Constructions and we would happily recommend them to anyone! From start to finish to entire process was as painless as we could have hoped for, including getting all the plans done, council approvals etc. When the building started the Finch team were extremely easy to deal with, friendly and well scheduled, and above all when we asked them to take care of a couple of extras, they had no problems and helped us out. On top of that the majority of the heavy building was finished in just two weeks! (The initial estimate was a 6-8 week job). I have already recommended them to a few people and if anyone starts talking to me about doing any building work, I without hesitation tell them they should give Paul a call. Many people describe building or renovating as a “stressful” life event. We couldn’t be happier with the transformation of our home. After selecting products and finalising our list with Routleys we sought quotes from builders recommended by them. We have contracted Finch Construction twice to do demolition and reconstruction work in three bathroom areas. They have been required to work to a very tight time schedule on both of these occasions. We have used Finch for three jobs over five years, a kitchen and bathroom renovation, a substantial house extension that involved a new guest wing and portico, and lastly installation of a slow combustion heater.
